Farewell

Natia read the note again and again, as if the message might change if she wished hard enough. The words never changed, Mira had left. The only farewell she had of her last close friend at the academy was in the form of a roughly scribbled note that was slipped under her door. Natia could not help but weep softly as she held the short letter close to her heart, feeling very much alone. Al and Mira had both left, the two people at the school that Natia truly trusted with her life. Just gone off to other parts of the world, not looking back, leaving her behind.
They both had their reasons for leaving, and Natia could not deny they were important, but it still hurt to be left behind...to know she was not quite as important. She was not angry, just broken hearted, as she curled up on her bed and sobbed, regretting that she did not even have the chance to tell Mira how much she would be missed and how much Natia valued her friendship.
